I've found this little sushi place by chance. The sushi guru in the cookery class told us that atariya is an excellent fish monger, all the big ones buy their fish there (ie. Nobu, Roka, Aqua Kyoto). Luckily I've found one of their teeny-tiny shops close to where I live (in West Acton) and one of their sushi shops in Ealing! https://www.atariya.co.uk/
So we went there tonight and I can tell you they do have excellent nigiris - so good, actually forgot to take a picture immediately - but all the rest is here for you!
As a starter we had daily specials - one was ika no shiokara: squid guts pickled in salt - that was not easy (but at least we got the heads-up from the staff). It was really strongly flavoured, but luckily small enough to finish it for two of us!
The other starter was crab meat, prawn, tuna and mackerel in light vinegar with cucumber and edible sea kelp. It was really fresh and tasty, but I think it was slightly overpriced compared to other foods in the restaurant.
As main we took Nigiri set C - nigiris of tuna, salmon, sea bream, sea bass, prawn, squid and mackerel and half salmon roll - we loved every minute of it - it was excellent! And disappeared really fast! As side dish we took miso soup - miso with mussel - it was also lovely fresh and really interesting combination!
Important to mention, that the place itself is really small, so we were lucky that we had place to sit, so booking is recommended. The place was really clean (we read some reviews beforehand about hygienic issue), most probably these were already addressed luckily.
The food was prepared in front of us - like in a nice sushi bar - so was superbly fresh! The service was really nice and toughtful.
